Spring Session 1
March 11 - April 15, 2025
Using myths, fables and fairytales as inspiration, we'll enter a world of whimsy, where animals talk and faeries fly free. This session children dive deep into their imaginations, creating gnome homes, faerie gardens, goblin traps and more.
Spring Session 2
April 29- June 3, 2025
This session we’ll immerse in worlds big, small and imaginary. During our adventures, we’ll investigate plants, insects and other woodland creatures, explore a land of dinosaurs, and create a woodland world full of imaginary creatures.
We believe that learning opportunities should be stress-free, developmentally appropriate, and naturally unfold through the inquiry and curiosity of the children, as well as support skills that will continue on as the children grow. Our staff supports all aspects of the growing child and places an equal importance on the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive components of development.
We believe learning should be a whole-body, creative, student-centered experience. We've developed our P.L.A.N.T.Ed™ curriculum to prioritize these values while also connecting students to their community, the world around them, and most importantly-- their self.
P.L.A.N.T.Ed™ is the medium by which WONDER ROOTS. It provides a unique blend that optimizes curiosity & creativity and maximizes on authentic, hands-on learning experiences. Our research-supported formula helps students develop the skills they need to be healthy humans and life-long learners:
Projects & Play
Literacy
Arts
Nature
Tools, Tech & Team
We recognize that children learn most effectively when they engage in topics that interest them and retain this knowledge when they apply their skills in ways relevant to their life and community. Many of our projects are process-oriented and encourage problem solving, collaboration, perseverance and resourcefulness.
Our whole-body approach to learning considers the physical, cognitive, emotional and sensory needs of the child. We support independence and autonomy and see children as trustworthy, capable humans. As such, students learn and demonstrate safe tool use, fire starting, safety and maintenance skills (including cooking over the fire) and develop risk assessment skills by challenging their bodies in various ways. We support social emotional skills through intentional language and facilitate conflict resolution through democratic problem solving and the development of community agreement.
Throughout the season, we use storybooks and other literature, journaling, nature connection & observation methods as springboards to our days. Students develop engineering & design skills as well as their imagination & creativity through various build projects, crafts and games.
To balance individual needs while also supporting diverse peer connections enrollment is limited to 12 students. Each week, families can expect a short summary of our day along with info, tips and ideas on ways to support students at home. For those looking for additional support, families have the option to combine our CURIOSITY CONNECTION with our homeschool services.
Tuition is calculated per session.
