Home School Support Services

As a VT licensed teacher and home-school parent, Colleen has been a resource for the home-school community for several years. Her services include: End of Year Teacher Assessments and
NEW this year-- monthly parent support.

End of Year Teacher Assessments

The Vermont Agency of Education (AOE) requires all students enrolled in homestudy to submit proof of progress commensurate with age and ability. This can be in the form of a portfolio (compilation of documentation of learning), AOE approved standardized test, an assessment by a VT licensed teacher, or some combination thereof.

End of year assessments (EOYA) by Colleen include a 60 minute virtual or in-person meeting with the student and parent to go over examples of the students work from the current school year. Documentations of learning include work samples, writing samples, book lists, photos or videos of projects of activities, sports schedules, ticket stubs, oral presentations, drawings. Colleen conducts her assessments in a casual, interview-style that is meant to be low-stress. She works with all types of student learners and homeschool styles, including unschoolers. Past families have appreciated her relaxed and friendly demeanor and value her ability to put into words the diverse learning opportunities many homestudy students undertake.

Cost: $75 per child. ($50 for additional siblings)

NEW! Monthly Homeschool Accountability and Support

Homeschooling can sometimes feel overwhelming. This is where we can help! Parents (or those responsible for their student's learning) will receive on-going, monthly support throughout the year.

Homeschool support will include 9 thirty- minute virtual group check-ins (Sept-May) with other homeschool parents, led by Colleen and access to a private group (google classroom). Monthly meetings and support will include:
  • "Show and Tell" examples of student work/projects/activities.
  • "Rose and Thorns" problem solving and celebrations.
  • Monthly tips and topics.
  • Individual follow-up with Colleen.
At the end of the 9 sessions, families will receive an end of year teacher assessment letter from Colleen that families can submit as part of their end of year/re-enrollment notices to the AOE. Relieve the burden of the EOYA while also joining a community of supportive parents.

Cost: $175 per family (includes 1 child's EOYA letter)
Additional sibling EOYA letters: $45
