Wonder Roots Programs and Services
Winter in the woods can be a cozy place with the right equipment. Participants will create their own survival shelters, and learn how to use fire as a tool for warmth, cooking and crafts.
As the seasons shift from winter to spring, the mighty maple awakens. Participants will identify and tap maple trees to harvest and process that sweet maple sap over the camp fire. We'll discuss the science behind the maple sugaring process and explore the possibilities that this deciduous tree has to offer.
Spring brings new life to the woods as creatures creep out from their winter slumber and new growth sprouts from the earth. Participants will explore the forest, looking for signs of spring. We'll discuss this seasonal change and explore the plant life cycle by creating individual garden boxes and planting early spring veggies.
Get ready, get set, get creative! This month is all about the possibilities of paper. Participants will explore the paper-making process and make their own recycled product. We'll incorporate nature elements along with paper and cardboard to create one of a kind creations.
